Ellwood turns his PR skills to ketamine as a finale.<\/li>\n<li>Alice Munro <em>Lives of Girls and Women<\/em> Never got Munro before but now I get it. Very engaging.<\/li>\n<li>Louise Penney <em>The Madness of Crowds<\/em> Gamache (17) Recommended<\/li>\n<li>Jane Urguhart <em>In Winter I Get Up at Night<\/em> Uruguhart does an excellent job of threading timelines throughout the novel. It&#8217;s something I often struggle with as a reader, but not this time. Highly recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Alice Munro <em>The Love of a Good Woman<\/em> I found most of the stories very compelling but felt I had missed the boat with others. May need to re-read some.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>2023<\/h2>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Marion Todd <i>Next in Line<\/i> A bit less satisfying than other Clare Mackay novels.<\/li>\n<li>Elly Griffiths <em>Bleeding Heart Yard<\/em> Good but not great mystery with a novel angle.<\/li>\n<li>Marion Todd <i>Old Bones Lie<\/i> another Clare Mackay novel<\/li>\n<li>Zadie Smith <em>The Fraud<\/em> Just enough plot mines and characters to keep me casting back to figure out who&#8217;s who etc.<\/li>\n<li>Marion Todd <i>A Blind Eye<\/i> other Clare Mackay<br \/>novel<\/li>\n<li>William Boyd <i>The Romantic<\/i> an epic life story really<br \/>draws you in.<\/li>\n<li>Kingsley Amis <em>The Green Man <\/em>Worth reading.<\/li>\n<li>George Sand <i>Comtesse de Roudolstadt<\/i> a writer and<br \/>novel of profound significance but rather<br \/>tedious to read.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>2022<\/h2>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>William Boyd <i>Brazzaville Beach<\/i> Fascinating story over<br \/>three segments of protagonist&#8217;s life<\/li>\n<li>Emma Stonex <i>The Lamplighters<\/i> Engaging page-turner<\/li>\n<li>Barbara Pym <i>An Unsuitable Attachment<\/i> Purchased May 2021<\/li>\n<li>Marion Todd <i>See Them Run<\/i> Start of my Clare Mackay<br \/>habit<\/li>\n<li>Susan Juby <i>Mindful of Murder<\/i> Gripping story which I did not want to<br \/>end. I guess it was intended as a resource for learn to read programs!<\/li>\n<li>Louise Penney <em>Bury Your Dead <\/em>Gamache (2010)<\/li>\n<li>Helen Humphries <em>The Evening Chorus<\/em> Great distraction from the start of the pandemic.<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth Hay <em>All His Life<\/em> Took me to the city (NY) and to the country with very well detailed characters. Great character development in all main characters. Highly<br \/>Recommended<\/li>\n<li>Louise Penney <em>The Brutal Telling <\/em>(2009)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>2019<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Graham Greene <em>A Gun for Sale<\/em> Good reading although the<br \/>situation seems somewhat contrived. Keeps your interest.<\/li>\n<li>Matt Lee and Ted Lee <em>Hot Box<\/em> An absolutely riveting account of the history of\u00a0 the New York catering business and the experience of the two authors working in it over a couple years.
